Developers of patient-centered connected health tools could benefit from $200,000 worth of user-centered design, development and analytics help from Partners Connected Health.

The aim of the Partners Connected Health Innovation Challenge is to help bring new ideas into early stage prototype, said Dr. Gregg Meyer, chief clinical officer at Partners.

"Advances in technology continue to disrupt the healthcare ecosystem," Meyer said in a statement. "CHIC helps to identify the most innovative and promising ideas from within the Partners network, and provides the expertise from our Connected Health Innovation team, to create cutting-edge solutions to address our biggest healthcare challenges."
 
Applicants should be members of the Partners HealthCare network, or should have at least one team member affiliated with the health system, which comprises 66,000 employees and more than 10,000 clinicians.

Proposals will be evaluated on innovation, applicability and "potential to disrupt the status quo of healthcare delivery," according to Partners These innovations could include devices, mobile-based apps or other clinical technology.

Selected teams will participate in a two-day workshop with Partners Connected Health Innovation leaders. Four teams will pitch their ideas to a panel of industry experts and Partners decision-makers.

One chosen winner will get help with user-centered design, development and analytics from Partners Connected Health and an invitation to showcase their work at the 2017 Connected Health Conference, October 25 to 27 in Boston.
